At Sacred Heart Parish Primary School, the canteen is managed by a Canteen Convenor, who is responsible for the everyday running of the canteen.
It is staffed by parents, grandparents and other caregivers who generously donate their time.
At the beginning of each term, volunteers are invited to nominate which days they can assist in the canteen, either weekly, monthly or once a term. Assistance includes serving and preparing lunch orders.
The canteen is open Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 9 am to 2 pm.
The canteen follows the NSW Fresh Tastes at School guidelines to ensure a healthy menu for the students.
Twice a term, the school has a day when the students have the opportunity to purchase products not normally sold.
Students are able to pre-order lunches, purchase snacks and drinks at recess and lunchtime.
